<The word “humility” comes from the Latin
humilis, or low, and humus, or ground. So, when Father Robert Casey, the pastor
of Gate of Heaven and St. Brigid parishes in South Boston, delivered a homily
in August, he defined humility as “keeping our feet on the ground, being
grounded and being capable of knowing the truth about ourselves.>
