I remember when trickle down first became popular. I was managing a shoe
and lingerie department at L. S. Ayers in South Bend, IN, and my store
supervisor preached it like the gospel. Today, L.S. Ayers is no more;
Macy's took them over. The first half of my life was in that golden time
from 1950-1980. The sad thing is that those born after it have no
conception of it, or even the possibility that it could ever occur
again.
