Music for Holy Week: Gretchaninov's "Svete tihiy"

Nobody does Holy Week and Easter like the Russian Orthodox!
Alexander Gretchaninoff's "Passion Week" is a set of 13 pieces that are drawn from liturgical texts used in the Orthodox Church during Holy Week. My favorite is "Gladsome Light." https://www.youtube.com/watch…
This “hymn of light” – Svete tihiy--is an ancient Christian hymn that dates at least to the third century. The hymn originally accompanied the entrance of the clergy and the lighting of the lamp at sunset.

"Gladsome Light of the holy glory of the Immortal One—
the Heavenly Father, holy and blessed—
O Jesus Christ!
Now that we have come to the setting of the sun,
and behold the light of evening,
we praise the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—God.
Thou art worthy at every moment
to be praised in hymns by reverent voices.
O Son of God, Thou art the Giver of Life;
therefore all the world glorifies Thee."
